Lane, what a wonderful experience you and friends are in for. I’m jealous – but just a little old for the trip. Stay safe and enjoy. James had mentioned your trip, but I didn’t have any idea what a great journey you’re about to start.
Best wishes, James Grossa’s grandma.

Hi Ian,
Well done in your adventure so far. You’re doing a great job channelling Jon Muir! (He paddled from Port Douglas to the tip of Cape York in 4 months, living off the land.) Kind of out there, given the local population of crocs in the intertidal zone. But, given the water was 26C not 5C, that makes him look a bit of a woos.
I suspect a moment relaxing at home has been a real treat.
Mum will be keen to see you back on dry land, but I’ll bet you don’t want it to end.
Bloody excellent job.
Can’t wait to hear the stories at Christmas,
lots of love
